The barrel has 95% original blue. This fine engraved -pinfire revolver is very similar to the French Lefaucheux Patent Model 1862 pinfire revolver. This revolver is unmarked with the exception of London crown over V black powder proof marks on the barrel and cylinder. It was most likely made in France or Belgium and exported to England. In addition to the rare engraving, presentation inscription, ivory grips, casing and half silver finish, the revolver is distinguished by the seldom-observed Uhlinger barrel marking. This piece has been traditionally known as a "Grant Revolver," since the type was an infringement on Smith & Wesson, and Uhlingers were marketed under such names as Grant, Lower and Cone.

It looks like you have a William Uhlinger revolver. These were made in .32 and .22 rimfire in the early to mid-1860's. Of course, they were a violation of S&W's patent. For this reason they are often unmarked. There are several various revolvers which look very similar to each other but go by different names.
