Speckle shearing interferometry, or shearography (Hung, 1982), is an interferometric optical measurement technique that utilises the laser speckle effect. It is derived from a similar technique, electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) (Sharp, 1989), which is related to holography.

In this work, the possibility to use of a speckle interferometry method as a basis for the tracking system of cornea structural changes at thermal influence of a nondestructive laser radiation is considered. Also for a cornea, the polymeric phantom was picked up .

TEM micrograph showed that the particle size of the samples is agreements with the results of Auto diluter submicron Particle sizer. The final dimension of the speckle grain size is controlled by the optical set-up. A detailed analysis of using multiple apertures to record laser speckles for strain analysis is presented. Laser Interferometers •Laser interferometers can be used for measurements of small diameters as well as large displacements.MQC : UNIT-2 12. •Laser light first falls on the semi-reflector P, is partially reflected by 90° and falls on the other reflector S. •A portion of light passes through P and strikes the corner cube.

Guest Editorial. Recent developments in digital speckle pattern interferometry. The last 10 years have  The principal speckle interferometry techniques are ESPI (electronic speckle pattern In ESPI, laser light is divided into illumination and reference beams by a  The laser beam is as before split into two seperate beams. Both beams are then focused onto the object from opposing angles as indicated in the diagram below.

Speckle interferometry systems on the other hand study the phase information of the speckles. As opposed to classical interferometry where optically smooth surfaces are studied and no speckle pattern appears, speckle interferometry uses the phase information carried by the speckles to determine the deformation of the object.

Offering a compact size, integrated drive electronics, and vibration-less speckle reduction, Optotune laser speckle reducers are ideal for beam homogenization, 3D scanning, metrology, microscopy, and interferometry. This is accomplished with holographic interferometry, wherein interferometry is carried out with holographically generated wavefronts.

Before the milestone work of Leedertz in 1970 coherent speckles generated from a laser illuminated object are considered noise to be eliminated or minimized. Leedertz shows that coherent speckles are actually information carriers. In this work, an X-ray nanobeam of a free-electron laser was generated using reflective KB focusing optics combined with speckle interferometry.
